You’re probably wondering where the hell I’ve been! Well I, along with Hippo, had a very nice bronchial infection! We have THE BRONCHITIS! *insert villanious musical overlay* Yes, y’all The Bronchitis. And let me tell you something, Ms. Sweet Brown was very correct in saying this, Ain’t nobody got time for that! I don’t think I’ve had bronchitis in 5 or 6 years. It could be that the steroids I had circulating through my system monthly prevented any other kind of infectious diseases from an immediate invasion. And not only did I get The Bronchitis (just be aware I will probably continue to refer to Bronchitis as The Bronchitis just because…well it’s funny!), but I also found a way to share it and a 104 fever with my three year old son who is better at acting like a sick person than I ever was. I’ve missed more sleep due to his nightly cough attacks that are usually followed by a long whiny moan and, “oh help me. Help me. I am too sick!” Yes, it’s been quite a party!
Let’s just talk about fevers for a second. I don’t think I’ve had a fever in forever and a day and thank God for that! If I had a fever on top of the constant stomach cramping, arthritis, vomiting, cysts and headaches that went along with colitis, that would have been the tipping point into insanity. Why do your eyes burn when you have a fever? It felt like my body was being weighed down with a thousand little furry hot puppies and opening my eyes took more effort than it should have. Hot! Cold! Hot! Cold! Sounds were hurting my eyebrows! LOL! Okay maybe not my eyebrows…but you get the picture. Is this what the little ones go through on top of a tooth cutting through? That’s terrible! Teething, inoculating, getting sneezed on in Preschool… all of these things bring on the germs that will create the fever. At 30 years old and 115lbs, it feels like my body has been through the ringer. I can’t imagine what it’s like for anyone under 3 feet. I suggest Motrin for the little one and any non IBD folks! The dosage is smaller and the kick is definitely more powerful. For my non-aspirin IBD folks…don’t let the tylenol dosage slip!
Anyway, sorry I’ve been such a slacker lately, but there is my excuse. But I have so many things to share with you, so please stay tuned this week! xoxo
