I am so excited to announce that my good friend, Amber Tresca of About IBD and the other half of IBDMoms, has dropped an entirely new podcast series. It’s all about healthcare disparities and inequities in IBD. A topic that is never really fully addressed…ever.
Like many of you, I also had a hard time getting a diagnosis. Although even after having the diagnosis, I still had physicians doubt my experience and journey with IBD. I have listened to the stories of other patients of color having restricted access, misdiagnoses, and overall terrible treatment. And it’s often rooted in systemic racism that breeds stereotypes and cultural bias, severely impacting patient’s lives.
I am very honored to have been a guest on Amber’s podcast to discuss the legislative impact on communities of color in the health space. Take a listen!
