Amazing Music Comes To Los Angeles
This weekend is turning out to be a wildly musical great time for us Los Angeles local Angels.
Saturday it will go down in the west-central valley at one of my favorite parks, Lake Balboa. The 1st Annual Balboa Music Festival with such stars as New Edition, Robin Thicke & my absolute FAVORITE Gladys Knight headlining the show. Just from the looks of it, this festival looks like something you won’t want to miss. General Admission tickets seem pretty reasonable at $55 for adults, $15 for kids 6-11 and kids 0-5 are free. The general admission tickets are your basic grassy area seats to chill out on your blankets with. One of the great things about this event is that the proceeds are going to The Boys & Girls Club of Los Angeles, LA Parks Foundation & The LA Stentorian Firefighters Foundation! So not only are we boosting the local San Fernando Valley economy, enjoying a beautiful day out with the family, enjoying the music of great artists, but your contributions will help local non-profit organizations. There are some tickets left, so check it out!
On Sunday in WeHo there is an event taking place a little closer to my heart. One of my favorite people, artists, dancer, singer, actress, in the world, Valarie Pettiford
will be performing a one woman show at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center on Sunday September 16th at 7pm! If you have never seen this Tony Nominated Broadway Fosse Diva LIVE in person, I suggest you get on that! And yes I am saying this because I know her. I am honored to say that this extremely talented woman is one of my closest and dearest friends. You don’t have to be a fan of musicals, or Fosse or Broadway to enjoy her show, this I can promise you. She is funny, charming, sincere and giving with her performances. You walk in a fan…you leave mesmerized! Let’s put it this way, my toddler finds video of her performances on YouTube. With every note, laugh, kick and shake, she will pull you in and you won’t want it to end. Tickets are $20 and going fast! More than just a date night, bring some friends!
Also, for you mommies & daddies, Valarie is releasing an album of lullabies entitled, Velvet Sky. I’ve heard the album and Jax enjoys it and you will too! When it releases I will have a link for purchases. You will want this!
