I was suppose to be in Washington D.C. this week with the CCFA. But the traveling schedule I had during Thanksgiving to get Jax to and from Kansas to be with his grandparents and father, took a serious toll on me. I am suffering from a full on AS flare up and what seems like a cut or fissure…DOWN THERE…so I wasn’t able to fly or travel. So, I am home.
But that doesn’t mean that I am unable to work on helping those patients suffering worse than me from IBD. Or honor those who have lost their lives from complications from IBD. I signed up to cycle in the Spin 4 Crohn’s & Colitis. My goal is $2,500. That amount will not only cover research cost, but send a kid to Camp Oasis. Camp Oasis is a camp created by the CCFA for pediatric patients with mild to severe Crohn’s & Colitis. The camp has speciality food for diet restrictions, nurses to help with Ostomy bag changes, feeding tubes, infections and other things that can come with having Crohn’s or Colitis. Most of these kids can’t go to a regular camp. Some of these kids suffer from another disease on top of their IBD, so it makes it impossible for them to eat regularly, join in activities, relate to other kids, etc. Camp Oasis, is just that, an Oasis for the pediatric IBD patient.
So, on Saturday, I am taking my little arthritic behind to Beat Bike in Tarzana after my last game coaching, and cycling for those guys! Can you help me reach my goal?? Donate HERE!
