Thor Mom

Posted on April 27, 2015April 26, 2015 By Brooke Abbott

So, I have a new name…Thor Mom. Yes, I’ve jumped from DC comic mommy to Marvel comic mommy! It happens often in this house. One day, I’m BatMom. Then when it’s time for my infusion, I’m Captain America Mommy, ready for her PX-41 serum. And when it’s time to move fast and take a trip, I’m Iron Mom or SuperMom…it really depends what comic or book he is reading that day. Well I’ve got a new one…Thor Mom. Yes, that’s right, I am the mommy of an Asgardian. Bet you didn’t even think I knew what that was! Did ya?! Well I do! Yep, sho, do!

Anyhoo, so yes, I’m Thor Mom from May 1st-May3rd when Jax and I celebrate the Avengers! We are big Avengers fans over here! And new Avengers fans with the addition of Agent Coulson and Robert Downey Jr.’s version of Iron Man. And as we do with most celebrations, we dress up! Jax would like to be Thor to see the movie Friday and attend Marvel’s Universe Live. So naturally, I am Thor Mom.

What is Marvel’s Universe Live, you ask? Well let me tell you. It’s a live show featuring Marvel’s strongest, most popular superheroes like Thor, SpiderMan, Iron Man, Wolverine, Storm and more! Here’s some more information:

*From their press release*

Marvel Universe LIVE! will captivate audiences with an authentic and original story that brings more than 25 Marvel icons together on one awesome quest. The Cosmic Cube, the source of ultimate power and one of the most feared and coveted treasures in the Marvel Universe, has been shattered into pieces by the Mighty Thor in order to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. With the pieces scattered across the globe, Thor’s villainous brother Loki devises a scheme to clone its powers, inciting a threat that could not only decimate Earth but also obliterate the Universe.

Feel the energy and excitement with cutting-edge special effects, pyrotechnics, aerial stunts, martial arts, motorcycles and stunning video projections that completely immerse the audience into the epic action and story. Nearly two years in the making, Marvel Universe LIVE! is being hailed as the most technically advanced and innovative live touring shows ever (in the more than 40 year history of Feld Entertainment). Join Marvel fans of all ages for this once-in-a-lifetime, monumental performance…the fate of the Universe depends on it!

Pain Management without the Pain Management

Posted on February 12, 2016March 19, 2016

I hate the phrase pain management. Seriously, I do. I really despise it. Whenever I am in the hospital, right after I hear the words, “Let’s manage your pain.”, they shoot me up with Zofran and Diladid, then I’m slurring my words and snoring…for 3 hours. After 3 hours I…

Finding the Light on my Darkest of Days…

I am two days post Remicade infusion. Two days from my 32nd birthday. And yet I am having the worst week ever. Having an autoimmune disease is more than having chronic pain, continuous hospital visits, and fatigue are only a portion of having the disease. I’ve said it before and…

Redefining Your Saturday Night

Posted on September 16, 2012October 30, 2012

Many moons ago, Saturday nights were my night to be out. I was usually taping on Fridays, and Sunday nights were a bust, so Saturday was it. A pair of skinny jeans, a cute top, some killer boots, little eye make up, gloss on the lips & I hit the…
